Fifth week of Microbiology class :)

Hello everyone!
We're now in the fifth week of semester! Yay~! But, we're not done yet. There's a long road ahead that I haven't yet finish my journey.

Last week, Dr. Wan asked us to upload a mindmap on Introduction to Prokaryotes in the Putrablast. So, for this week class, each of the group must write one of the points regarding the topic on the whiteboard in front of the class. My group got to write about the Flagella and how does it works on the cell structure.

Then, by group, we have to pick a microbe and make a search on the information regarding the microbe that we already chose. We have to search by the history of the microbe, the morphology, nomenclature, cell mechanism and molecular method for the microbe.

We also have to present about the microbes that we have chosen before. All of the 9 groups will share about what microbe that we have chose and present it for 3 minutes per group. The other group are presenting about Propionibacterium acnes, Magnetotactic bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Alcanovirax borkumensis, Halobacterium salinarum, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

My group are presenting about a microbe called Serratia marcescens or S. marcescens. What I have found out about this microbe is that it have been classified as a non-pathogenic bacteria at first, but it becomes a pathogenic after it contributes to more death. For more information about the bacteria, click on the link given: Serratia marcescens

From this class, I have gained knowledge about another bacteria that have a very unique characteristic that I never heard about it. So, this week gives me a new view on microbes.

That's all for this week. See you next week!
